rescue & re-homing

places great importance on the commitment required from the SPCA LOGO 2015 copybestfriendsprospective new owner, particularly with regard to dogs. Is there enough space for a new dog?   Is there a garden or outside area? Is the property securely fenced. Do the new owners have sufficient time for a pet? All dogs and cats leaving the Centre are already spayed or neutered, all at Gozo SPCA’s expense, unless a vet advises otherwise. Puppies and kittens are spayed or neutered before being rehomed, if old enough.  Therefore the Society does ask for a modest donation for animals adopted from the Centre. Full details of new owners are kept by Gozo SPCA. In order to give the new pet owner (and pet) the very best chance of a happy future together, Gozo SPCA has produced its own ‘Dog Owner’s Guide’ ***, and ‘New Kitten/Cat Information sheet’, which we hope will help to lessen the chance of any problems arising and answer some of the questions we are most frequently asked. *** Please note that the Dog Owners Guide is designed to print double sided on A4 paper, then fold into an A5 booklet!
