Gozo SPCA will be very pleased to hear from anyone feeding colonies of cats which need neutering and ask them to the Centre Manager at info@spca-gozo.org. The society has specialist equipment for trapping and transporting  cats with the minimum of distress to them. Let us all try to prevent the birth of unwanted kittens and give the adult cats a longer, healthier, happier life.

The UK has  announced today that as from 1/1/2012 it will be no longer requiring dogs, cats and ferrets entering the UK to undergo 6 months quarantine. According to the report, Malta will be doing the same  http://www.defra.gov.uk/news/2011/06/30/new-rules-pet-passports/ ”The UK will harmonise its pet movement rules with the rest of the European Union from 1 January 2012,……..All pets will still need to be vaccinated against rabies. Pets from the EU and listed non-EU countries such as the USA and Australia will no longer need a blood test and will only have to wait 21 days before they travel. The UK, along with Ireland, Sweden and Malta, has an exemption from the standard EU pet travel rules. They are all harmonising their entry rules with the rest of the EU at the same time as the UK”
